While reading a book about Thos. Moser, Cabinetmaker, he shared a method for improving the penetration of his standard finish:

• 3 layers of boiled linseed oil
• 1 application of furniture wax

The method is to heat the boiled linseed oil to 130°F. He says that it soaks in better and faster.
